Which republican senators have potential to pull a Jim Jeffords?

Jefford left the GOP and started caucusing with Dems soon after Bush took office.

It would take a few, but I wonder if Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski have it in them to bolt and become independents? Does anyone else have any speculations on it?

we should target a few Republicans that may still have a few morals left and petition them... it was great when Jim Jeffords did it!

Although, I'm not confident enough to actually hope, but it's kind of fun to speculate. Petitions are a really good idea.

Not sure why.... It just seems like we need two sane parties and it would be a start. I've thought about supporting Susan Collins if she keeps behaving.

It would just be nice for the purposes of keep the House from even thinking about some proposals and it would send a message about appointments. Especially to the SC.

majority party gets the committee chair and they decide which bills to bring (or not) to the floor... that makes all the difference in the world!

Imagine what Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders could do in positions with real power. We would finally have someone with stronger institutional backing to call Paul Ryan out.

I would like to think Lindsay Graham and John McCain would have the spine to do it, but I don't think any of these people will.

I just thought it might be a good thought experiment I like the idea another poster had about petitions.

How low we have fallen for our only hopes to rest on these two . . . I realize at times how deeply my denial has ingrained itself since the beginning of this debacle. Simply unbearable.

And who in the Sam Hell knows what goes on in Lisa Murkowski's head. One wonders what Olympia Snow would do now, if she were still in the Senate.

I suspect that there will be no Jeffords-like crossing overs. Maybe John Edward could help us read the tea leaves. "I'm seeing somebody whose name starts with 'M'". Like it's a game of charades.

No hope there, I suspect.

is a great, big chicken shit. I am not as sure about Murkowski, but as she has an "R" behind her name, I assume she's a chicken shit hypocrite too.

Both NeverTrumpers. I don't think they are planning to yet, but if Trump makes good on his promise to take revenge on them, they may fight back.
