During the election I had many a discussion with people that their "news" was tailored to them due to their demographics, regions, likes and others they've engaged. It wasn't really trending, or even something timely for other people not in their specific niche. Not to mention it didn't even have to be "real" news.

It was like talking to a wall most of the time. I finally just started ending it with, "which means that tells me more about who you are than you're realizing."
