"Oh, the odor of goodness"

Bear with me for a moment.

I recently saw an old film named “Viva Zapata,” (one of Marlon Brando’s first movies).

It was about the Mexican revolution. A very temporary president tries his best to bring about a fair and equitable society. His military advisors see him as a fool.

At one point, he speaks eloquently about the dignity the people of his country deserve. He leaves the room, one of the Generals takes a long drag on his cigar, and then sneers: “Oh, the odor of goodness.”

I see Steve Bannon, the white supremacist who is Trump’s chief advisor, as this general. I can imagine those words coming out of his mouth. I believe that he is speaking into Trump’s very receptive ear. And I believe a veil of evil is about to descend upon us, as well as the rest of the world.

But if you take nothing else from this thread, it's this. Those who are about to come into power are people who would not hesitate to say: "Oh, the odor of goodness." And that tells us who and what they are.
