I'm seeing one after another article posted here about how "Big Pharma" is EEEE-VIL, and homeopathy is "natural" and "good."
The Scientologists used to do this to radio call-in shows, send out marching orders to get on the radio show, often using deception, and then say how bad psychiatry is and Scientology is so much better.
I heard it myself on Art Bell's radio show.
He didn't waste any time disconnecting them.
Here we are seeing unrelated to homeopathy articles used to "prove" how good it is.
But it's still total bullshit, and the FDA is finally cracking down on these con artists.

(34,648 posts)Might save a few uninformed a few bucks here and there since they have to let consumers know that their product is garbage. My mom especially. She spends like ten bucks a pack on these homeopathic swabs she uses when she gets sick. Goes through four or five packs every time. Waste of money.

(43,146 posts)Homeopathy doesn't work all the time, but for simple problems it often
works for me. It's relatively cheap and doesn't do damage, it does
tweak symptoms. I wouldn't use it for serious illness surely. For that I'd
use mainstream medicine, and then consult a naturopath.

(11,841 posts)I dont get it either. I remember the medical community going after Chiropractic really hard too. I;ve never used one, but I know several people who had painful issues who no longer do. It worked for them
I know people who love homeopathic stuff and they seem fine as well. Its THEIR choice, as long as harmful stuff isnt being sold

Chriropractic got "acceptance" not due to any science.
They went the political route.
Just like supplements.
Every time, and this is *EVERY* time chiropractic or homeopathy is put to actual scientific scrutiny, it fails.
Completely.
When I get my chronic headaches, I'm not going to find tincture of ringworm that gets advertised on woo websites like "Natural News."
I take a couple generic Excedrin, or if it's really bad I get a couple pills from the local clinic.

Sure there are quacks out there & snake oil salesmen. But many of our modern medicines come from nature

Jacqueline Alderslade. Age: 55 Hollymount, County Mayo, Ireland
A homeopath told her to give up her asthma medication. She later died of an asthma attack.
Isabella Denley. Age: 13 months Kew, Victoria, Australia
Isabella was prescribed medications for her epilepsy. Instead of using them, her parents consulted an iridologist, an applied kinesiologist, a psychic and an osteopath. She was being treated purely with homeopathic medication when she died.
Janeza Podgorek . Age: 42 Trboje, Slovenia
A physician/homeopath advised him to use homoepathic preventatives for malaria prior to a trip to Africa. After he returned with the disease she continued to treat him with homeopathy. He died

Me who is skeptical of everything? I don't think so.
You are entitled to your opinion. It is your reality. It is not mine, and most
importantly, it is my body and not yours and not science's.
I won't even read your mainstream AMA garbage. They are the quacks. They
have made more illness and misery then anything else, and all to control the
patients and line their greedy little pockets. They never cure anything. They
just treat symptoms. Real medicine heals with minimal side effects.

(49,988 posts)Modern medicine saved my Mother from breast cancer, my Father from heart failure, and my children from multiple diseases that a few decades ago could have killed them.
And yes, you can experience the placebo effect for 30 years.
Clearly you aren't skeptical of everything if you think water is a cure for illnesses. Homeopathy = water.
