Trump Will Violate Any Law He Wants. GOP Congress Will Do Nothing.

The GOP will allow Trump to do whatever he wants with impunity because after all he is a Republican. That fact is one thing we can probably count on. So he will likely run his businesses ala his kids the way he wants. It won't matter how many petitions or demands Democrats and others make. Protesters will be called thugs and the media will dismiss them or just plain NOT cover them like they did in the run up to the Iraq war. They will be called unAmerican and traitors for the effort.

There is probably not much we can do about the situation. s

At best he's a RINO.

He supports no Republican values in a meaningful way and has already flip-flopped on most of his campaign promises.

Maybe he's noticed this:

Coping with Chaos in the White House

"'A few days ago, I wrote a post for my Facebook friends about my personal experience with narcissistic personality disorder and how I view the president elect as a result. Unexpectedly, the post traveled widely, and it became clear that many people are struggling with how to understand and deal with this kind of behavior in a position of power. Although several writers, including a few professionals, have publicly offered their thoughts on a diagnosis, I am not a professional and this is not a diagnosis. My post is not intended to persuade anyone or provide a comprehensive description of NPD. I am speaking purely from decades of dealing with NPD and sharing strategies that were helpful for me in coping and predicting behavior. The text below is adapted from my original Facebook post.'

'I want to talk a little about narcissistic personality disorder. I’ve unfortunately had a great deal of experience with it, and I’m feeling badly for those of you who are trying to grapple with it for the first time because of our president-elect, who almost certainly suffers from it or a similar disorder. If I am correct, it has some very particular implications for the office. Here are a few things to keep in mind:'>>>

It appears that Trump can do whatever the f*ck he wants.

The tea party & white nationalists infiltrated our media and Congress and destroyed every safeguard we had in place.

Oh well, what starts foul, ends foul... I guess.

What's extremely worrying is the next big election in 2018. I know the Dems will be extremely vulnerable and protecting many Dem Senate seats, and whose to know if the Russians won't interfere in those elections like they apparently interfered in this GE? We know that 95% of the press--print/television is useless. We know what Russian propaganda, fake news is all about, which many low-info voters actually believed, and much of that fake news/propaganda was overwhelmingly against Hillary Clinton/and very favorable to tRump. Whose to say WikiLeaks won't make up more fake docs which are negative, and attribute them to Dems running for/defending their Senate seats in 2018? We know that voter suppression/disenfranchisement will be much worse 2 years from now, especially during a tRump administration/DOJ/FBI, who won't care anything about it, and they won't care to investigate either--just encourage or at the very east turn a blind eye to whomever may be disenfranchising Dem voters and interfering into our elections. Dems appear in "Roll over me AGAIN" mode as far as Thuglicans are concerned. The GOP/tRump are running all 3 branches of our government for at LEAST 4 years, tRump will stack the courts with Right-winged, rotten, racist Scalia-types and worse, and they mean no one but the top 1% any good. They don't care about those deplorables, dumb, or naive who voted to give them/tRump all of that power. They REALLY don't care one damn about those who oppose their reign and who know who they ARE.

But all I've said may be a moot point no matter how angry the electorate may be, and even if those who voted for him turn on him if our elections are tainted from now on out.

He will do whatever they tell him to do in return for them letting him use his position to conduct his business. This is a win-win for them. Why on Earth would anyone suddenly think Congress will do what is good for the country?

I fully expect that if democrats file articles of impeachment many republicans will join them. They don't care about Trump's behavior so much as they'd rather have a President Pence who will follow the party line to a T.

With Trump's antics taking center stage during the campaign, no one really paid any attention to Mike Pence. He's so religiously wacky and uber-conservative that he could never have been elected on his own.

13. Normalisation
Mon Nov 28, 2016, 05:19 AM
Nov 2016

Hi,

There is a process of 'normalisation' going on. At home we have been watching an old German TV series called 'Heimat' made in the 1990s by Edgar Reitz. It covers a German family's story from 1919, through WW11 and after.

There are those who will quote 'Godwin's Law' at this point, but leaving that context aside, the process is the same. There are those who embrace the process, those who go along for personal profit, those who see the truth but remain silent, and the victims. Just the same. There are enough of those enablers to overwhelm any protest outside of a decisive election defeat, which may be far in the future.

They were facing an absolute wipe out in this election, with their party written off as dead. Does anyone think they would act against the guy who in effect delivered them the presidency, kept Congress in their hands and gave them control of the SCOTUS for at least the next 20 years?

You don't attack a person who was literally your political savior.

there will be a time span during which the Trumpsters will on fuck it up worse.

Our democracy has always depended on some buy in by all parties. It is pretty obvious this group plans to rob us blind as quickly as is possible.
