Their minister of culture was in charge of destroying museums and ancient works of art. Their minister of education was in charge of destroying the schools, particularly girls' schools. And so on and so forth.

We are in for the same type of thing from the Trump/Pence Republican government.

We can't pass laws, but we can privately fund many of the things that they will kill.

Global Warming Studies and Scientists.

Women's Health and Planned Parenthood.

Anything Science related - you can bet that the NREL (renewable energy) is going to be cut so we fund that.

Education.

It will cost billions... probably we will all need to chip in hundreds per month to fund everything. And we will have to appeal to millionaires and billionaires to fund this instead of other civic and philanthropy that they have traditionally donated to. It will mean a great deal of sacrifice but this is too important to just let it go for 4 years.
