8. The SCOTUS ruled on this in 1969! It is NOT illlegal. When I was in Grade School,

we were taught that if you have a flag that has become tattered from use, you are SUPPOSED to burn it. The reason behind that is the other options you have would be to just toss it out in the trash, or drop it in the dumpster, both would show a sign of disrespect.
