PERFECT response to Trump's "flag burners should go to jail"

Former NFL wide receiver and current feature film director Matthew A. Cherry just responded to President-elect Trump’s early morning tweet,
in which Trump suggested that burning the United States flag should be punishable by jail time or loss of citizenship:

Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 29, 2016

Cherry linked these issues with a tweet that has since started to go viral:

So in Trumps America if you burn a flag you should be jailed but if you burn a cross you should be in his administration. Got it.

Disposal of tattered flags is by burning. The Boy Scouts do ceremonies very frequently.

There aren't any large outbreaks of flag burnings going on but
the puppet masters know what will piss off their base.
Here is a charming ditty (circa 1990) about taking personal responsibility for your
actions:

what happens to those little American flags that are placed on the graves of Veterans on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The ones that aren't stolen, I mean.

And what about those same little flags that get sold/passed around at rallies and parades.

If NOBODY can burn an American flag, then an awful lot of people would be in big trouble, because I doubt those tiny little flags are reused after being in the weather or dropped on the ground after parades are over. They're probably being burnt.

BAAAAAADDDD!!! Lock those flag burners up!

Of course, they could always just be thrown in the trash instead, right? Way more dignified...

it was seriously illegal to burn flags, and to wear any part of the flag.
Says so right in the rules about the flag

Today wearing a flag pattern is considered normal.

The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the national flag of the United States of America.
It is Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq).
This is a U.S. federal law, but the penalty described in Title 18 of the United States Code (18 U.S.C. § 700) for failure to comply with it is not enforced.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in United States v. Eichman that prohibiting burning of the U.S. flag conflicts with
the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and is therefore unconstitutional

What I really don't like is laws that are not uniformly enforced...no pun intended.
Either enforce then or get rid of them.
