...a line from the film "Inherit the Wind":
My friends, as you all know, I deal with figures...accounts, checks, balances. My bank operates on the principle of practical reality and so do I.
Are you aware, my friends, that the great big universities throughout the country will consider student applicants from our state ineligible because of this law?
Now, I don't know whose idea it was to hang a shingle on Hillsboro spelling "horse-and-buggy," but as for me, I won't invest in antiquity.
I want my bank holding credit with New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois,
and I may want my son to go to Yale.

Fortunately, Walmart will always need people to stack inventory...

(12,631 posts)2. That's a good idea. The Publicans
constantly use words to shape public opinion: death tax, right-to-work, etc. We need to start doing the naming of programs we don't like. School coupons. You gonna send your kid to one o' them coupon schools?

(5,269 posts)3. Repubs with money can steer their kids into conservative (noncompetitive) universities
that have very high rates of admission, so their kids' lack of preparation and critical thought will not matter and these kids will not be contaminated with liberal ideas or scientific theories that conflict with fundie Biblical theory or right wing dogmas.
