PrideFest returns to Amarillo
Amarillos annual PrideFest is back after last years absence, and event organizers hope the gay pride festival will be bigger than ever. It is back in full force this year, organizer Michael Timcisko said. OUTstanding Amarillo has actually been going through a revival.

Its built up over the years to where pretty much in every major city you are going to have some type of pride event or PrideFest that goes on, Hintz said.
Early Tuesday morning, more than 30 people gathered at Cadillac Ranch to paint the half-buried cars rainbow colors and celebrate gay pride. Timcisko said OUTstanding Amarillo did not organize the painting.
We recognized a few faces in the photo but I think it was just a
community-wide effort that was just spontaneous, Timcisko said. Rainbows are simply meant to be representative of all races, all ethnicities and, in the case of the gay rights movement, sexual orientation as well.
