In case you missed it, here is our story on an Orange County student with a very impressive academic record. Gabby Erwin, 14, earned perfect scores on FCAT math, reading and science this year– and a perfect score on the state’s algebra exam.

Gabby earned a near-perfect mark on FCAT writing, too, getting a 5.5 on her essay. That means one of the two graders gave her a 6 — a perfect score on that test.

The teenager, who attended Bridgewater Middle, is a talented musician, too, who plays the oboe and base guitar and is learning the saxophone. That’s so she can do marching band, in addition to concert and jazz groups, at West Orange High come August.
