Russia interfered with our election to remove the candidate that would have held his feet to the fire, and our country elects the weakest link. Now Trump breaks US precedent to open communication with the leader of Taiwan.

If I were China, I would be raising an eyebrow, wondering where the next four years of foreign policy in the US is going to affect my welfare.

We have a crisis in the making here.

...is now the subject of partisan disagreement with republicans sounding like they're willing to just let Trump roll the dice on this one.

You're right that Trump's a crisis waiting to happen.

...also, we have Reagan's 'Six Assurances,' affirmed by Reagan and Congress in '82, and followed by every president since.

He won't go to briefings. He doesn't read books. He thinks he has the bestest brain and doesn't need to learn things.

For most human beings this experience (withe quick pushback and warnings) would indicate that a little bit of learning/homework before each of these calls is a good idea. Not Trump. Where's his ignorance and righteousness with the ignorance on his sleeve.

...Trump just came back with an 'I meant to do that' kind of response.

I do still wonder if he really wants to go ahead with antagonizing (essentially threatening) China, or if he'll take cover behind his new WH mentor who made calls this morning to try and clean the mess up for him.

He has a full schedule of "victory rallies" to attend. It's very exhausting. All that "foreign policy" stuff can wait

So must the Dems in congress. They must speak out often and loudly as Trump destroys our nation.

...I mean, what next?

This isn't one of his reality shows. He's a step away from control one of the most powerful forces in the world and he's already pushing all the buttons he can get his hands on. It's more than unnerving.
