http://www.rawstory.com/2016/12/suspect-with-assault-rifle-arrested-at-dc-restaurant-named-online-in-fake-news-pizzagate-story/The Washington Post said no shots were fired and no one was injured at Comet Ping Pong, a Northwest Washington pizza restaurant with ping pong tables that are popular with families.
A phony online news story that circulated days before the Nov. 8 election said that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and a top campaign aide were running a child sex ring out of the back room at Comet Ping Pong.
The story was one of many canards floated by pro-Trump propaganda mills. Not a word of it was true, but the restaurants employees and their families have been receiving death threats and other forms of harassment since the phony story circulated, which is known in right-wing conspiracy circles as #Pizzagate.

(2,573 posts)Then I was disappointed in myself because I could not remember the number of people who were murdered. I think, 3.
On edit: here's a snip from Wikipedia on the murder:
On November 27, 2015, a gunman attacked a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.[1][2] A police officer and two civilians were killed; five police officers and four civilians were injured.[3][4] After a standoff that lasted five hours,[1][5] police SWAT teams crashed armored vehicles into the lobby and the attacker surrendered.[6]

(80,708 posts)I mean, an article in the Times or Post calling this "story" bullshit just further convinces them "Aha! We're on to something, because the Illuminati Media Lizard-Jews are trying to shut it down!"

(90,785 posts)It is as if facts are an attack on their very being. You present a fact, and they think you've insulted them instead of giving them necessary information.
From personal experience I know you can show proof that President Obama is not "taking our guns", but the person listening is steadfast in their belief that he has confiscated guns from people and continues to do so. Never mind the person is sitting in a house with a full gun cabinet. (their own)
I'm not sure what the answer is, but I do know it won't be a quick fix.
