Speaker of the house and third in the line of succession for the Presidency says it doesn't matter

whether or not the president is truthful on twitter. "What difference does it make" he asks. Veracity is fundamental, period. What difference does it make? How about a war in a foreign country based on lies told to the American public which has led to thousands of American soldiers being killed. Not to mention the lives lost by indigenous People in Iraq. People, rightly or wrongly, assume that the people in the Oval Office have more complete and accurate information therefore are more believable.

If it doesn't matter that the president is truthful in one venue why need he be truthful in any other. Virtually everything the president says and does is news. If the president fuels the pubic with false news, no matter the vehicle, and people act on that false information is the president complicit in unlawful acts resulting from his/her lie(s)?

Just yesterday in Washington DC an active shooter invaded a pizza joint based on a false news story which he decided needed "investigation". False news has actual consequences for everyday people, sometimes lethal consequences.

If truthfulness is now an option for government officials why all the angst about Hillary and her emails. She need only tweet that she doesn't even know what an email is, and who cares anyway. End of story and investigations.

What false statement will the presumptive president elect make next? What will be his first false statement when (if) he is inaugurated? How long will it take to make that false statement? I'm guessing 24 hours will not pass before he has made a false statement that carries potential harm to someone or some group, not to mention the nation as a whole.

Darrell Issa lied this morning on CNN.

The majority of Republican politicians are LIARS and have

CONNED the American people.

They lie with a smiles on their faces.

They are evil.

They are dangerous.

They want an Authoritarian Corporate Controlled Theocracy.

a quaint, arcane concept like truth in a post-truth, post-fact, post-accountability world? Truth is so 2015.
