My grandfather survived Pearl Harbor. He fought fascists in the European Theater.

12 years after his death, America goes and elects one.

His service was one of honor and defense . . . . and we rewarded that by ultimately kowtowing to TrumPence and all the corporate jackals that promise to "Great" America out of existence via automation, offshore outsourcing and shredding our already inadequate social safety net.

I apologize, grandpa, for this nation ultimately disgracing all you fought for . . . the idea of a really great America that was supposed to be the beacon of Freedom. Now, we remain nothing more than a broken and bitter populace that's likely never going to see that "idea" come to it's fruition.

Hope you're proud of yourself, Dumberica. Aren't you glad 100% Pure Capitalism won out in the end?

Served in Guadalcanal and I'd hate to think what he'd have to say about the goings on we are now seeing.

He fought for our rights only to end up with tRump.

. . . . that there have been several movies made about what happens when people like tRump become (or have the potential to become) President.

None of them end well.

It's simply amazing to me that anyone from the military votes Republican when this is the party that's MOST likely to send them off to a purposeless war and LEAST likely to take care of them when they come back from it.

He arrived home at 115 lbs. and was dealing with malaria and the effects of having dengue fever and beri-beri. He was a very sick sick man and died believing he was in the war. It was very sad and he attempted to get help but was denied any help whatsoever.

It sickens me just thinking about it.

Damn these 'effin wars that seemingly never end.

May Dad RIP and I don't give two hoots about whether or not some fool out there is shameful enough to even think that he did not deserve HIS Medicare!

A giant FUCK YOU to any person out there that says otherwise! If they do, let them go enlist in a war and hope that they are fortunate enough to even make it home in such a decrepit condition that plagued him and the entire family for the rest of his life! Shame on anyone that says this sort of thing! SHAME ON YOU and I suggest YOU go enlist you sorry SOB!!

which is the "Baby Boomer" generation, has generally failed at leadership in this country. It is up to our children and grandchildren to lead the revolution that will have to happen to undo the damage the GOP and spineless Democrats will do in the coming years.

We're worse because we can't make the excuse that we haven't seen lousy Republican governing before.

We're worse because we fell for the phony Republican boilerplate, especially on the economic side (and some, nauseatingly enough, fell for their Draconian societal platform also).

We're worse because we had all of this history and information at our disposal and fingertips and fell for them anyway.

We're worse because we demonize Millennials, a generation that arguably has it financially worse off than many previous generations.

We're worse because we became OUR PARENTS, something we said we'd never do.

WHO pray tell do you think has been running this country? We have a bunch of 70+ year olds running for the jobs in Congress, etc.

If you dislike MY generation so damn much, well then, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT WOULD YOU?

On edit: How many out there were busy ironing their father's shirts to wear to work and doing all of the housework? I was doing this from age 7 years on as we did not have money to hire maids and the like being my now late brother had a brain hemorrhage which left him permanently disabled and there was simply NO HELP to be found! The "maids" and the like were my siblings and I, that is who. This is but one example of how MY generation assisted the Greatest Generation right up until the day they died. Yep, until the day they died!
