(2,108 posts)No need to give his manifesto space.
We know he's a racist murderer. Don't give him any more publicity!
It plays into the precise reason miscreants like him write manifestos in the first place.

(1,760 posts)Roof's sort of ignorance, fear, racism, and hate needs to be exposed and condemned at every opportunity, particularly given the next administration.

(2,108 posts)And a headline introducing the manifesto.
And while there is no one singular way to defeat racism, I believe depriving their vile thoughts of oxygen is part of our fight.
Think about it - The more oxygen/coverage this next administration gets, the more empowered his twisted minions become.
It doesn't shame them or stop them by reporting on or calling out their angry violent actions and thoughts....it feeds their hateful fires...witness the rise in these hateful attacks since the rise of Trump.
I say we combat these forces by depriving them of attention/oxygen/notoriety

(82,383 posts)while white people don't have to think about being white proves the white privilege right there.
I do run across the idea that Europeans dominated the rest of the world as a justification for their alleged superiority. But then it is only geography, looking at Europe you can see why ships were easier to be brave enough to go on.

(35,096 posts)"we are in fact superior"
Roof was superior to nobody, from what I gather he was a junkie who liked to crack racist 'jokes' when he was younger then his drug habit got too costly to pay for, and he came to realize that the people he made fun of now were happy and were living their lives and he was, quite simply, a loser.
Sometimes the answer to when one feels cognitive dissonance is violence. Rarely is it terrorism.

(54,044 posts)Scanning my memory, I know I have heard something similar. I am just sure I have. It's on the tip of my tongue. I am bound to remember shortly....
OH YEAH...It was once called the "Jewish Question" and was quickly followed by the "Final Solution."
Funny, how some love to gloss over that or get pissed off when reminded of it.
