Based on his extreme narcissism and resulting need for constant adulation, I think he is positioning himself to be the "People's Savior" when their more radical agendas are put forward. He needs the conflict so he can save us.

And I think he'll enjoy screwing his own cabinet members over.

Note his recent backtracking on Dreamers.

He envisions more and more support and stirring up his followers until they will support anything he wants to do. Like a cult leader.

But first he will throw bits of candy by reigning in his own cabinet and the trumpsters will buy it hook line and sinker.
