Chuck Jones gets call from Bernie Sanders after Donald Trump criticizes union chief on TwitterTANAE HOWARD
Fox 59
Chuck Jones, president of the union representing Carrier workers, received a call from Bernie Sanders late Thursday afternoon after the union leader was called out by President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday night.
FOX59 was with Jones when he spoke with Sanders, whom Jones said he supported during the election. During the call, the Vermont senator vowed to fight and hold the President-elect to his promises of stopping corporations from moving jobs out of the country.
Sanders tweeted after speaking with Jones, stating "Mr. Trump should not be attacking strong and effective union leaders like Chuck Jones."
Within 30 minutes of the tweet, Jones said his phone blew up and wouldnt stop ringing. He said people told him they knew he had children and what kind of car he drives. They called him all manner of bad names, Jones told the Washington Post.

It's kinda messed up when the presumptive president elect attacks private citizens, prompting supporters to issue death threats.

This is how you fight back against fascism: build solidarity, stand up for the oppressed, communicate directly, kindly, and firmly.
Bernie did exactly the right thing after Prince Trumperdink attacked union leader Jones.

(14,861 posts)11. People need to be recording these calls.
Seriously, if Trump ever says anything about anyone, that person should immediately begin to record every call. If state law requires it, inform every caller first thing: "This call is being recorded. Hello, this is John..." Give the police some evidence to work with.
