The latest is he is ignoring intelligence briefings because he believes they are slanted and political. He refuses to accept that the Russians were meddling in our election. Of course he does. Because they were meddling on his behalf.

2. Yes, he assumes people are stupid, and he's dead right, for the most part.

For many decades, I have wondered whether there is some sort of viral dementia slowly taking over the country. People seem to be getting more and more stupid every day, and cable TV can't be blamed for all of it. I thought that they took lead out of gasoline to prevent this sort of thing.

They are meddling in the German election. Let's hope the Germans are smarter.

I just don't think his supporters care what he does, he's their man and that's it.

Joseph Stalin ignored Russian intelligence that Germany was going to renounce their non aggression pact and attack them. Stalin likely ignored it not because it was false but because the consequences of it being true were so great. Of course Trump knows the Russians put their thumb on the scale for him. He just can't admit it to himself.
