Obama should have been giving daily news conferences...

Pointing out the Republicans were blocking his Supreme Court nominee.

He already reduced his leverage with his choice. Obama should have chosen Lynch. Imagine the shit show for the Republicans blocking a black woman - a highly qualified one - from the Supreme Court. It would have been a a hard ball political pick.

So tired of Democrats shirking from fights when they are right. And now it has lost a critical Supreme Court seat.

McConnell throws down the gauntlet: No Scalia replacement under Obama

The Senate majority leader's challenge to the president's nominating authority appears to be unprecedented.

of the Carter presidency whilst Putin's pals pull the strings and dance the Tweedling orange shitgibbon into office? Meanwhile we can sit rapt at your knee while you illuminate our many failures and collective sins. That's one way to go.

Or - - we could instead concentrate on the very real threat at hand. Yeah. I think I'll go with that.

The failure was REPUBLICANS in Congress. As someone said here, Mitch McConnell made no secret that there would be NO vote on Judge Merrick Garland's nomination. Further, several Senators, including the so-called "moderate," John McCain, have ssuggested that they would have blocked Hillary Clinton's nominees:

“If Hillary Clinton becomes president, I am going to do everything I can do to make sure four years from now, we still got an opening on the Supreme Court,” North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr said in an audio recording of his meeting with GOP volunteers on Saturday. CNN obtained a copy of the audio.

GOP Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Ted Cruz of Texas have also suggested blocking any Clinton nominees. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said in a debate Monday night that he “can’t imagine” voting for any Clinton nominee though he stopped short of vowing to block a pick from a Democratic president.

I can't see how Obama's holding "daily news conferences" on the issue would have helped, given the shitheads in the Senate. I will miss President Obama and his family so much it will hurt. He is the opposite of Dump with his grace, intelligence and humor.
