Remember when the Russians massacred the Polish officer corp and blamed it on the NAZIS.

The Russian summarily executed members of the Polish officer corp in the Katyn Forest during WW ll and blamed it on the NAZIS. The Allied powers ignored it or played it down because Russian cooperation was necessary to defeat the NAZIS.

I only bring this up to point to Trump's naivete or duplicity in dealing with them. He would have believed their denials.

1. Actually, the Soviet Union did that.

The Soviet Union under Stalin was a vastly different thing than is Russia today. We have to stop thinking that we want to return to the Cold War.

2. Two points.

1) Not that it is either here or there but Joseph Stalin appealed to love of Mother Russia to resist the NAZIS and not socialist fraternity.

2) I favor cordial relationships with all the nations of the world. I also favor all the nations of the world staying the fuck out of our elections.

3. And we should maybe stay out of theirs.

The US government routinely seeks to influence the outcome of foreign elections. We have done that since WW2 when we went "all in" in seeking to defeat the possibility of the establishment of Communist governments in France and Italy. Then there was Bill Clinton's foray into Israeli politics when he sent advisers like Carville to help Natanyahu's opponents. Not to mention getting our puppets elected in Iraq and Afghanistan.
