What we want to believe...

...is that this was just another election and our candidate lost.

It is not that different from the George W Bush election and we survived it alright.

Nothing will change very much and we will win back the White House in 2020.

Donald Trump may be a sociopathic narcissist but he deserves to have his own people in his departments of government.

There is no need for fear or paranoia.

The new President-elect has the best interests of America at heart.

He won fair and square so we should just give him a chance.

The Republicans in the House and Senate will keep him under control.

We need to prepare to take back our government in the next election.

The election is over. There is nothing we can do about it.

Maybe everything will be alright?

It's not that big of a deal.

But I can't be.

WHERE ARE OUR LEADERS? WHERE IS THEIR OUTRAGE? WHERE IS THE SOMEONE WHO WILL HELP US UNDERSTAND OUR OPTIONS? i'M SICK OF WAITING (and sorry for the caps but my frustration runneth over).

I'm at a loss. Totally stumped.

I've seen the cabinet appointments, straight from Bizarro World. Education hates public schools, Interior wants to sell the land, FDA doesn't want to test the drugs, ad nauseum. I'm beyond anxious and have moved into terrified, because these people alone are worse than any Putin shenanigans could ever be, far beyond corruption and graft.

I'm listening, I'm reading. Preparing. But I do not know what to do. I don't need a leader -- I'm strong enough without one. I need ideas, plans, direction.

I am lost.

No reaching across the aisle to find common ground with these folks. Let's remember that the next time we manage to get in power.

wrong. There has been a coup by Russia and either the sane part of the government gets us out of this mess or we better start teaching the Russian language in our schools. The kids are going to need it.
