Something for the electoral college to consider

This is no ordinary election. Yes the people voted and Trump scraped by in a few key states but lost the popular vote by a pretty hefty margin. Trump is clearly unfit for the job, is dividing the country and probably won because of outside influences from Russia and our own FBI. If there can't be another vote the fair thing for the electoral college to do is a compromise of someone politically between Hillary Clinton and Trump. I would suggest they consider someone perhaps like Jon Huntsman or Chris Gibson. I think we need to be making this case. When our election is hacked and the targeted candidate barely loses, the electoral college needs to make an attempt to set things straight. A compromise is the only plausible solution barring a re-vote.

Having a president nobody voted for will just be a figurehead for Ryan and McConnell. Instead of 46% of the electorate outraged you get 100% fuming. Democrats and republicans will come together and unite just to hate the president.

He is unstable and if one of his buildings in Istanbul or Manila or wherever is attacked who knows how crazy he could get. He also strikes me as someone who could turn into a Hitler type especially with all the generals around him. I do however see some advantages in leaving him in because a recession is likely to hit and if he ends up a failure and breaks all his promises, then his base may just give up and never vote again. In that regard I am torn.

Probably gonna piss off a bunch of people here, but Clinton's failure to clinch the EC is what got us in this mess to begin with. Yes, she won the popular vote, but the campaign strategy failed and clearly was weak enough that she didn't kick his ass handily. She SHOULD have been way far out in front of him to the point that Putin and his merry band of hackers in conjunction with the GOP couldn't catch her. He sucked that bad, and she still didn't manage a decisive win--hell--we don't have control of a single branch of the legislature in spite of the bullshit the GOP ran for the last 8 years.

Continuing to push for her with the EC is a losing bet. Give it up.

Push for the EC to vote its conscience. "Don't allow our government to be taken over by the outsiders." "Don't let a foreign enemy usurp our nation." "Vote for America!" That is how we dodge the bullet of the Orange Assailant. Compromise on a moderate--or at least a non-crazy person. We already ran her once and lost our ass. Now we need to move on to damage control.
