If nothing is done about this given this shocking allegation and Trump still takes power then this means I'm sure nothing will be done about Trump's businesses and other conflicts of interest. Because what more shocking and dangerous conflict of interest could you be allowed to have than to hold the presidency of a nation when it's been proven that a foreign power meddled to help get you elected.
Even if we are to assume the most non threatening of scenarios in which Putin simply wants a president who will leave him alone to do his own nefarious deeds. In other words even if we assume that there will be no further Russian melding in domestic policies. This still means that going forward ANY dealings with Russia will be tainted with doubt no matter what they are. That's WHY you have conflict of interest rules, to eliminate all doubt because it's often extremely hard if not impossible to rule out theirs party influences and favouritism.
And like I did if they allow Trump to be president then letting him keep his businesses might as well be seen as a minor conflict of interest next to him just being president to begin with given these resent revelations. Of course they AREN'T minor, they are fucking serious! But only in this poorly written pulp fiction of a presidency are they minor by comparison.
