China: Trump’s Taiwan comments spark ‘serious concern’

China said Monday it has “serious concern” about comments by Donald Trump regarding the self-governing island of Taiwan. The country's reaction came a day after the president-elect said he did not feel “bound by a one-China policy” in a television interview.

China also warned that any changes to the United States' dealings with Taiwan could damage diplomatic relations between Beijing and Washington. The U.S. sees Taiwan as part of "one-China" and maintains a formal relationship with China and an unofficial one with the island.

In an interview broadcast on Fox News on Sunday, Trump said: "I fully understand the one-China policy, but I don't know why we have to be bound by a one-China policy unless we make a deal with China having to do with other things, including trade."

Geng Shuang, a spokesman for China’s foreign ministry, said Monday that established policy is the “political foundation” of any diplomatic relationship between China and the U.S., and that any damage to it could make cooperation between both sides “out of the question,” the Associated Press reported.

For a number of years. Lots of the stuff is in Vietnam and other smaller countries where they have put factories. They're pushing into Africa now, going wherever they can best exploit cheap labor.

I think they've decided to keep tech and only the higher end of the garment business. ivanka just moved some of her production, I bet she is pulling out all together.

3. Beijing 'seriously concerned' after Trump questions 'one China' policy
Mon Dec 12, 2016, 01:04 PM
Dec 2016
Beijing (CNN)China has warned that it's "seriously concerned" after President-elect Donald Trump questioned whether the United States should keep its long-standing position that Taiwan is part of "one China."

Trump has signaled a willingness to confront Beijing, and his latest comments in an interview with Fox News suggested that he won't hesitate to anger China until the country comes to the bargaining table on trade and North Korea.

China's response was measured but clear: co-operation with the US "would be out of the question" if Trump doesn't adhere to the 'one China' policy -- a cornerstone of bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in the 1970s.

"I want to stress that the Taiwan question has a bearing on China's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said.

The Global Times, a Chinese state-run tabloid, said that Mr. Trump was “like a child in his ignorance of foreign policy.” It added: “The One China policy cannot be bought and sold. Trump, it seems, only understands business and believes that everything has a price.”

I wonder what the Con's response was to being called a child by a Super Power? I still hop there is at least ONE sane individual in this Country who can explain the real world to the Con and actually get him to listen!

Trump is an illegitimate President, he's going to need a war right away to take the focus off from his collusion with Russian hackers.

I will say this, once he is in power, he will do anything to stay there including starting WWIII.
