They'll embrace Putin because Russia is a less concrete threat to them. Hillary is seen as a gun-stealing sith lord to these people. It'll trigger a negative feedback loop if she becomes too involved. It'll empower Trump. We need to isolate Trump and not make him seem like the underdog or anything. We need his base to see him as the threatening overboss to get Republicans in congress behind keeping him out of the white house.
