Now suppose all of Hillary's electors *also* flip to vote for Kasich (or enough of them to reach 270).
Would this be anywhere in the realm of possibility to prevent the complete and utter pending calamity of a Trump presidency?

(1,714 posts)voting for any Republican?
I understand that is the only hope for preventing a Trump presidency, but electors are generally chosen because they are party loyalists.
Even if it happened, I don't think the House would have to accept the results. I think they would be able to hand the Presidency to Trump, anyway. (I may be wrong about that, think I read it somewhere.)

(13,101 posts)This country is fucked.
The Republicans are in complete control.
It doesn't matter if if is Trump, Pence, or Kasich.
All of them are out to destroy everything this country is
suppose to stand for.
They have decades of failed policies.
They always run up huge debts.
They destroy everything they touch.

(15,237 posts)I view all Trump voters especially family members as potential mortal enemies. I now understand how those in Germany that rejected Hitler must have felt. I do not know the depths of despair of those invaded by fascist must have felt that revelation may not be far away. The current regime in Russia is our enemy as well as anyone who does business with Donald Trump.I do not see anything that will lessen this disaster including finding a more acceptable Republican.
