I think Putin wants the United States to literally come apart. He would love nothing more than what happened to his country when it broke apart. He would love to see Calexit happen, etc. I'm not saying I'm opposed to Calexit, I actually think it's a damn good idea (I'm in Washington state and would be in favor of a Washington/Oregon exit as well). I'm saying that a divided America is what he wants, and at the moment it is what we have.

Donald Trump won't put roadblocks in his way, for whatever reason. Maybe it's blackmail. Maybe it's threats. Maybe it's a financial thing over Trump. Maybe it's just Trump's sheer stupidity and lack of concern. So, Putin wants Trump in the White House so Putin can do whatever Putin wants to do.
