Vladimir Putins Popularity Is Skyrocketing Among Republicans

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s net favorable rating among Republicans has climbed by an astonishing 56 percentage points since July 2014, according to a new YouGov/Economist poll.

Thirty-seven percent of Republicans polled hold a very or somewhat favorable opinion of Putin, while 47 percent hold a very or somewhat unfavorable opinion of him.

Though still negative overall, that -10 percentage point net approval rating represents a drastic increase from 2014, when Putin’s net favorable rating stood at -66 points among Republicans, according to YouGov Elections Editor Will Jordan.

I am the lone liberal in my Michigan family.

They insist the "news is the news" and it doesn't matter where it comes from.

I am at a loss. These are my loved ones. They are wrong.

I can't even help because they think it's all me being a super-liberal. Sigh.

I do the best I can, where I can and when I can.

I fight on.

Those that don't have jumped ship, and started calling themselves libertarians. But that doesn't make any difference if the libertarians still vote GOP, just because Ron and Rand Paul are in the GOP.

...he runs a one-party dictatorship, with a huge, organized kleptocracy squatting on top of the country like a toad. No nonsense about a free press, right to assembly, freedom of religion--except, of course, for *theirs*--or anything else. Putin's Russia is just what the GOP and the "conservative" movement have in store for America.

I doubt that many Republicans would care if Putin held our nuke codes so long as the Klan can ride again as openly as it did in the early 1900s. Trump is about racial superiority and all the privileges thereto, and if it results in US subservience to Russia, Republicans will consider it a bargain.

we'd see the day when a sizable chunk of the GOP admires an actual communist? It helped put him in a more favorable light among them as they saw how people like Pres. Obama and Hillary Clinton went after him, though. They probably consider anyone who is an enemy of Obama and Clinton to be their friend.

and I think you have the last sentence backwards. Anybody who is an enemy of Putin is and enemy of theirs.
I say if and when we ever take America back and become a democracy again, we deport all Trump voters to Russia.
It's a win - win for both sides.

They think the Democrats are the enemy instead of the Russians, who are the real culprits in trying to bring America to its knees.

that Republican voters don't really care about the issues anymore. At this point their party is basically just an opposition party to the Democrats, who they've been conditioned to hate. If the Dems say "up", they will say "down." If the Dems say "yes", they will say "no" regardless of the issue. Politics is basically a sport to them now and all that matters is that their team is winning.

Wait until another Dem is president and we will see that "anything goes" only applies to Republicans.
