WATCH: Kellyanne Conway says Donald Trumps team found an exception in anti-nepotism law

"SNIP.............

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway suggested the president-elect would find a way to get his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner into the White House via a loophole in anti-nepotism law.

“The anti-nepotism law apparently has an exception if you want to work in the West Wing because the president is able to appoint his own staff” as opposed to the Cabinet, Conway said, adding: “The president does have discretion to choose a staff of his liking. And so, if that actually is true and that legal advice holds, then that will open up a realm of possibilities.”

“We haven’t had adult children in the White House for quite a while. We’ve had minor-aged children in the past several administrations . . . so it is something new,” she continued. “You’re talking about men and women who are incredibly talented and very smart and very involved in their father’s business, obviously. It’s a family business. But I have been talking to them daily and the preliminary advice that I heard is that, first of all, nobody’s made any final decisions, and when they make a final decision of whether they will or will not serve inside the administration, inside the West Wing, everyone will know that.”

Conway called “fair” host Joe Scarborough’s assessment that Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are the two most likely family members to hold staff-level positions in the Trump administration.

we haven't had an adult in the White house that acted like a child in forever.

Are we setting all sorts of precedence's?

I think the real issue is that Donald can't stand being apart from her. I know we've all commented ad nauseam on their creepy relationship, but it really is disturbing.

6. Wouldn't they then have to give up all their business ties too?

Yes, if Ivanka becomes a speechwriter or something, fine. But if she and her husband are part of the president's team, they have to properly give up all their business interests too. So that's Jared's business that need to be sold off as well, and the proceeds put into a blind trust.

Kiddos will not be any part of his team, but living in the WH and doing company business and only "supporting" Dad?

This is not normal.

They look for loopholes in everything. And when they can't find one, they create one using expensive lawyers and bribed congress members.

maybe that's the point? do radically atrocious things to suck up all the coverage, and subvert the nepotism laws while most of the journalists who care about such "details" aren't looking?

10. It was truly a wonderful thing to see an extended family in the WH with the Obama family.

A family that is a reflection of America, where grandparents played a major role in the raising of the next generation. Where families lived together in multi-generational living conditions for the benefit of all.

But what Trump is trying to do is not a reflection of American families.

This is all about product placement with the name "Trump" being the product.

This is a reach-around that does nothing to change his conflicts of interest.

"It’s a family business"

Trump Organization is - but America isn't. Trump is trying to install himself and his family into the WH as if they were a royal family that have gained a throne.
