A former Texas elector said this week that he and others had faced threats for refusing to cast their votes for President-elect Donald Trump.
After the election last month, Art Sisneros announced that he was resigning as an elector because he did not think Trump was biblically qualified to be president.
Sisneros revealed in an interview published by Texas Monthly on Tuesday that Christopher Suprun, an elector who lives in Dallas, faced violent threats after he said that he would cast his vote for an honorable and qualified man or woman such as Gov. John Kasich of Ohio.
According to Sisneros, Suprun asked him to share one of the threats in a Facebook post earlier this month.
You vote for Trump or we rape your wife and daughters with a knife before we kill you. Do as told or face consequences, the threat warned.

(2,795 posts)warning them they'd better vote for Trump. You know that Trump clan - good grief. If it's not the inside circle doing it, then it's all kinds of hate organizations volunteering their time making calls. And I would bet there are veiled threats if not flat out blatant threats.

(48,955 posts)No law has been passed that has made threats of these types legal, and no law has been passed that provides harbor for assault, rape, or murder, because it was done in the 'name of Trump' (or on his behalf). Attempt to act on this threat, or keep repeating this threat, at your own peril - in which case "May God have mercy on your soul".

(50,323 posts)That's what the Manbaby tweeted, so that's the topic of the day. Of course, like everything else in Trump world, the exact opposite is true. It's Trump nuts threatening electors if they don't vote for Trump.

(26,698 posts)How could anyone not want to cast their electoral vote for him?
Wish he would have stayed in and voted his concience, and maybe gotten some armed anti-Trump people to volunteer to guard his family. That's what the 2nd Ammendment is for.
Is there any kind of legal sanction for threatening or intimidating members of the EC?
