GOP talking points are infecting the dialogue, even in our august environs.

"California votes really don't count."

"Democrats live in Ivory Towers."

"Democrats need to stop playing identity politics."

"Democrats have no plans for working class folks."

Part of it is that we don't have the following marching in lock step:

1. MSM -- always so quick to adopt GOP framing and put dems under the microscope;
2. Right wing media -- amplifying talking points and always 100% on message;
3. Party discipline -- too often dems stray from a coherent, consistent message; and
4. Twitter bots / hacking / the Russians / etc.

Low post count recent DU members - are we certain they aren't Russians? My assumption is they are and we should be as cruel as possible without breaking TOS. Many Russians go along with their "Democracy Con" - we need to let them know . . . We aren't friends and know what you really are.

You have named a problem at *this* forum. I find it hard to believe that gops don't have anything better to do than type paragraphs that only a dozen democrats might ever read. They do it year in, year out.

I have some interests like the evolution of the brain that I might explore here. We still have a few smarties in some of the forums. After a few years away, this place interests me a bit more. However, I might wave it off. Good morning, btw

Some folks are quite susceptible to rightwing talking points.

I appreciate you for targeting those four.

They are lies and they are smears. I can go to a right wing site and hear "California doesn't count". Then I come here and read the same bullshit regurgitated as if it were fact.

I find it baffling that people say that shit here and then get all self-righteous and demeaning if they are challenged on it.

Never in the history of this country has a presidential campaign been waged without some mistakes being made---Hillary Clinton's was no exception.

And who would have ever believed there were so many ignorant / hostile / misogynistic / racist people in this country, enough to propel a Trump candidacy to victory?

How about we Democrats easing off on the self-flagellation a little, and starting to take some positive steps towards a recovery?

And here at DU, how about we shut down the toxic 2016 Postmortem forum? It has really been around too long.

Were mistakes made?

Sure, but Drumpf pulled the equivalent of a royal flush to win and he needed a nudge from the FBI and the former KGB.
