Who saves us?

When Hitler was all over Europe and the world was at war, the United States, Britain, France and the other democratic countries bind ed together to conquer him.

Who is left to save us, the citizens of what was once a great experiment in democracy?

Like Trump said, if he had shot someone on 5th avenue, the rest of the "non-coastal elites" would have applauded the idea of one less citizen of Manhattan.

Plus you probably now have cyber-hacking being invited into our politics, which means that under a tRump DOJ ANY election they want to can be cyber-hacked. Do you think that a tRump DOJ will even try to stop the russians or whomever from cyber-hacking any election which could make Dems LOSE all of it's power?

At this rate, the thuglicans will practically OWN the Senate and House. How in hell WILL Dems ever win the White House again? The Congress is going, going gone in 2020--the same YEAR redistricting occurs, right?

There's little hope out there politically if you're a Dem.

Of course, back then we all thought that he was the worst we'd ever have to deal with. Now, some of us would probably be *relieved* to have him and Cheney back in the WH instead of a Donald. Yes, we have sunk THAT low. Which is pretty damned scary IMHO.

The other tape could have saved us had it come out closer to the election! At least, Tom Arnold could have released his tapes closer to the election! Just think about it...if either of those tapes had been released just 5 days or so before the election, trump would have been sunk!!

Nothing, nothing could have stopped Trump from being president.

Everything that would have stopped any other candidate in any other election did not stop him.

right now, most of what i've sensed is a vague sense of impending doom -- from dozens of different angles, many set up by Trump and the GOP assholios to disperse outrage over many fronts. as the train wreck progresses, we will begin to learn more about which aspects are acute crises affecting global and/or national well-being and which are smokescreens or relatively minor infractions.

only when their priorities become clear, and probably only after the effects are felt by a large number of people, will any kind of intervention, foreign or domestic, become in any way practical.

it is only at and beyond that awful ugly point that any sort of "saving" is conceivable, as the form it takes will vary greatly according to the need. if destroying domestic welfare programs is their primary focus, it makes little sense for an international alliance to come to our aid. conversely, if Trump's bunch is hell-bent on global devastation of some kind, we may need more than a strong slate in 2018 and a strong presidential contender in 2020 to stop them.

right now, it looks to me like the first battlefield for confronting the Trumpists will be on the domestic agenda, and Sen. Sanders appears to be taking the lead. later that may change. it's too damn early to say.
