The Beach Boys confirmed to Billboard Thursday (Dec. 22) they have been asked to perform at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration but have not yet made a decision to to do it, a spokesman for the band said.
"The Beach Boys have been asked to perform as part of the inauguration festivities. But no decision has been made at this point as to how or whether they will participate. We will let you know as soon as a decision is final," the statement released by the band said.

I don't think Dennis Wilson would have cared. The take-away I got from the several Beach Boys bios I've read is that he was basically a hedonist. I don't think politics mattered to him.
Carl, on the other hand, was long-recognized as the soul of the band, especially when Brian stopped touring. Carl probably would have voted "no" on this.
Brian and Al? Probably two more "no" votes.
And the article I linked to mentions the famous / infamous 4th of July concerts on the Washington Mall. It's not a fair comparison. Those concerts were a celebration of America on the 4th of July, not an endorsement of the occupant of the Oval Office.
Mike Love is all about the money...which is why it came as such a major shock that KISS said no, but apparently Gene Simmons' wife and daughter are staunchly anti-Trump and shot the idea down. Simmons would have taken the cash in a heartbeat.
