Does anyone think Democratic Leaders in the House and Senate have a plan?

Seriously, what planning sessions are under way to deal with the biggest threat to the history of this great Republic in Donald of Orange?

Are they coordonating ways to deal with this madman?

Do they even have a plan to counter Trump and the GOP media lies?

Based on the Russian Hacking Scandal, I'd have to say no!

Agree with you, however, we DEFINITELY need to groom a crop of younger progressives who can eventually become leaders of the revolutionary movement Bernie started.

And, the longer Bernie remains in the presidential spotlight, the more the new crop can learn at the hand of the Master!

Who the fuck do some of you vote for? Democrats? Why, I mean, dayam, If I felt this way about Democrats I sure in the fuck wouldn't be voting for them. Nor would I be posting on a Dem site.

Look, I get criticism, especially the constructive kind--and we need it, but I generally expect a modicum of knowledge on how politics actually work, for instance, at least a working no knowledge of what the office of the presidency can do and can't do--one thing sadly lacking on this board lately. What the fuck do some of you think Democrats, who are lawmakers, could or should be doing right now that will change a motherfucking thing without causing damage and give that piece of shit asshole Trump the kind of ammo he wants? Especially when we have idiots running around with the most inept go at "recounts" ever, and a "progressive" wing addicted to inane conspiracy theories. Attempt to take on the media? Pass laws? Declare martial law? Start a civil war? Use Twitter more?

Warren and Sanders will continue to speak up. Perhaps Franken and a very few others. I expect nothing from Pelosi and Schumer except business as usual which is totally depressing as they are professional, career pols. More to the point, Republicans control the Congress, the Presidency (after January 20th) and pretty soon the Supreme Court will shift right too. Democrats play nice. They “take the high road” and worry about ethics and morals. They do not fight or lock arms as a monolithic entity. Republicans are stonecold killers. They brazenly obstruct and mow down everything in their path. Not admirable but they win elections and retain power. Between the ascension of Trump and the outrageous assault on Democracy in North Carolina (a Republican boilerplate for the rest of the nation) things are as bad as I've ever seen them (and Truman was President when I was born). No, unfortunately I don't see any plan other than more of the same from Democratic leaders. I would like to be proven wrong but am not holding my breath.

Especially, Schumer & Manchin. Just take a look at how many are attacking the POTUS again, Schumer for the UN vote. Obama is the most popular guy in DC & these guys do this crap Just like in the last mid-terms they ran away from him.

I will be anxious to see who gets the DNC Leadership.

Both parties are sort of coasting through elections now. I've said for some time that this makes us ripe for demagogues. Fortunately, this time out, we have Trump, who will self-destruct. Next time we may not be so 'lucky'.

And I don't want to hear excuses about their powerlessness in all branches, the evil of the Republicans, and the biased media. All that is true but that means we need more leadership not less.

Since there is no leadership and no plan, it really is all up to us to hold their feet to the fire.

2016 may have been the last chance for a long time. The corporate media has turned the voters into zombies. Unless you can counter the media we are screwed. They pretty much lost the support of the key young voters. I know polls don't show the damage done. Only a small minority get actively involved and when you lose that small minority you've lost a lot. This is all history now.
It's not in the politicians hands anymore for at least 2 years, it's in our hands. Massive and active resistance is the only hope we have. Writing letters, sending emails, writing op-eds is a waste of time. In the long run it's probably a good thing and wake up a lot of people not to depend on the political class to save them.

I wish I had more confidence in the party leadership coming up with something effective---but I don't have it.

Honestly, I think it's going to take nation-wide public demonstrations against the Trump regime to ignite anything meaningful.

And veer to the right, like they've been doing for 35+ years.

The democratic party is toast. They lost the game. The GOP controlled government & state governments, are going to act bold & fast to implement more voter disenfranchisement laws, shred the safety net, destroy our freedoms, & sell off our Commons for pennies on the dollar to their rich contributors. This is what voting for the lesser of two evils has gotten us. I'm disgusted with the democratic party.

Don the Con has already made a comment about being in office for 8 years. Election 2016 was a turning point in our representative democracy. I question if we'll ever recover.
