From a man who knew whereof he spoke

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won.
There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end they
always fall -- think of it, always
Mohandas K. Gandhi

We are not the only ones ever faced with oppression. Others have done so and prevailed.

So shall we.

I'm finding it therapeutic to browse quotations and post those I find to be particularly relevant. It helps builds up my courage, and when I post them, my hope is that it might help give others a change in perspective.

All is not lost-- I firmly believe that.

Thanks for the lovely photo!!

the back of my mind that all is not lost, either, and your quote from Ghandi perfectly illustrated it by bringing in some history.

I liked this pic too.. I got it by googling Mele Kalikimaka.

Thank you again for the quote..

Of course there will be difficult times-- I don't kid myself there won't-- but we have sheer strength in incredible numbers, we have many, many others who are declining/refusing to participate in this outrageous charade-- not so much to be difficult, but to express their deep feelings of grief and fear.

Since the beginning of time, people have been oppressed-- we aren't the first. WE WILL PREVAIL. It will take all our strength and dedication, but we will do it.

the darkest day EVER was the day congress voted to give Bush the go-ahead on Iraq.

I remember becoming physically ill. I am haunted by it still and I firmly believe so much of problems today are a direct result of those actions.

Obama made it better for me. I never understood why anyone would want to take over from Bush but I am glad he did. But he could only shield us so long from the shit-storm Bush unleashed.

As my honey says: "We've survived scoundrels before...we will survive them again."

But, in my opinion, it won't be unscathed.
