A general warning

I received an email telling me my paypal account has been Iimited (notice the capital "I" which I've underlined and bolded.)

The from address for this was: "service @ intI.paypaI.com" (I added the spaces.) Also notice the use of capital "I"s.

This is a phishing scam. Don't fall for it!

Someone you don't know is looking for a big holiday present from you. Don't oblige.

6. I've had emails "from" every major box/chain store recently...

most go directly to spam, all then to trash.

3. Thanks!

Sad to say they are not only using paypal - but banks, utilities, insurance companies, etc. etc.

BUT - Merry Christmas!

4. Those are common, always forward to: spoof@paypal.com

that gives them the headers to track the perps

5. I get one every once in a while

"You have to reset your password to your Macy's account." I don't have a Macy's account.

8. I also

get a lot of those, but I use a mailwashing program which is mostly accurate in letting me know what's spam and what isn't.

Sometimes it gets a little too enthusiastic about labeling something as spam, but I always check each email to make sure nothing I actually want to open is being tagged. It gradually "learns" what's spam and what isn't.

I feel sorry for people who get taken in by these scams

11. Pay pal. I do have a Paypal account but barely use it however I do sell on Graigs list though...

and I look for scams and my best insurance is cash but I did have one guy insist that I get pay pal. The scammers are the first to notice a new listing. After I get all the texts about leaving a cashiers check blah, I then get the PayPal scam.

For me, cash works best. I have a small local checking account for the direct payments etc..
