They are taking their sweet time responding. I've seen a couple of his minions subtly descrying Obama's action, but nobody outright saying that the sanctions should not stand. Some have observed that Obama has done Trump a favor. I think that may be right, but Trump is too much of a narcissist to recognize this. He's going to continue to frame this all in terms of threats to his own perceived legitimacy, rather than a threat to our national security and the integrity of our elections. So what will he do or say? Inquiring minds want to know.
I predict he's going to accuse the Obama administration of playing politics -- probably in an incendiary series of tweets -- while insisting that it's time to move on cause, you know, with computers and all.
But maybe I'm wrong, maybe somebody in his circle has enough sense to see that he needs to change his tune and change it fast, or risk looking like a complete Russian stooge -- even more than he does already.
If he doesn't the Republican party is going to tear itself into to two warring camps -- the get back at Putin camp, and the protect the stooge at all costs camp.
Depending on how this all goes and what more information comes out, Trump's presidency may be even more short-lived than I have been hoping.

How can this person possibly take an oath of office which requires him to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies domestic and foreign?

(82,849 posts)Unless someone makes the rather obvious point that there's a bright line between Russian interference in our election and Trump's "victory." Then Trump will spend a couple of early mornings in a rage, stabbing his stubby little fingers at his smart phone.
