Wonder how many other people believe the same thing? Well, I guess that a lot of people in Kentucky honestly believed that Kynect had nothing to do with ACA when they elected Bevin either. A lot of Trump voters also didn't seem to take Trump very seriously during the campaign about his pledge to repeal PPACA.

Steve Beshear (Dem former Governor) has been repeatedly quoted as saying that he didn't like the deception, but they did what they had to do in order to get people enrolled.
Vox did a followup the week after the election throughout rural Kentucky and quoted one person after another who had no clue that their Kynect and Obamacare were the same thing.

And yes, many red-leaning American believe all their improved benefits and access and new state marketplace and new urgent care centers came about in spite of Obamacare, which is socialism or Obammunism.

(10,749 posts)a few years back that Obamacare should just stay the fuck away from their Kynect (do I have that right?).
Small problem, of course. The Kynect was made available via, you guessed it, Obamacare.
And then there are the idiots who said they just didn't believe trump and the Christian extremists when they said they would abolish Obama care.
So, as the meme goes, trump supporters also lost the election - they just don't know it yet.

Constanly demonize something called Obamacare, nener use ACA, then repeal the evil Obamacare and when the rubes Trump voters lose their healthcare, say that the Democrats got rid of the ACA as revenge for the Republicans repealing Obamacare. Seriously, I think that's what will happen and Fox, Right-wing radio, Breitbart, etc will back that up. Since Trumpsters only listen to right-wing news that is what they will believe.

(15,090 posts)Here's a couple stories of my former co-workers that I recently shared here. They were not young!
I assure you that these are TRUE stories! I just hope that the people described are among the dumbest 1% in the country or something.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1187&pid=59214
I worked at a factory where an immigrant from Russia (she was an Ahiskan Turk) was preparing for her citizenship test. I looked through the booklet and said, "Wow, these questions are easy!"
A Vietnamese-American in the area overheard me and said, "I guarantee with you... those stupid women over there don't know answers!" I replied, "They wouldn't know there's 50 stars on the flag or that the stars represent the 50 states? C'mon!" He answered, "Mudda fugga, I work with them before. You ask them at break!" (He often used "mudda fugga" to start his sentences, by the way.)
The three white women in question were about 45 to 60 years of age, and their typical work consisted of cleaning parts and packaging them.
Long story short, they did NOT seem to know anything! I eventually asked, "Okay, who was the first President of the United States? You know that one, right?" Nope! "He's on the one dollar bill! Who is that?" One of them replied, "We're not in school anymore!"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=8450585
A Vietnamese-American co-worker was asked by other co-workers how he arrived in this country. He started to mention part of his travel on a boat and someone interjected, "Oh! I think I saw that on TV years ago! Were you one of those boat people who kept showing up in Florida?" He silently stared at her for a moment and then changed gears. "I mostly swim here! I swim across Pacific ocean! I'm number one, world-class swimmer!" Several people asked him if that's what he really did! He looked over at me, shook his head and smirked.

(53,061 posts)that were Trump supporters. When I pointed out that he is clearly bigoted they said they didn't think so.
When I pointed out that his persistent practice of trying to claim that President Obama was born in Africa could only be motivated by racial bias they disagreed saying that they thought he might have been born there.
When I asked them how a white college girl living in Hawaii got to Kenya at the same time she was attending college and no one knew about it they stunned me with their response, "his mother was white?".
Had similar conversations with dozens of ignorant white folks. We have a large segment of the voting public who could not correctly answer the kinds of questions I had to know when I was in the third grade about the current President. It is all very depressing.

(39,116 posts)Their preachers told them that Trump is the Chosen One, and that's how they voted.
But other religions are not immune.
My parents used to live in a very Republican part of California. We'd go to Mass there occasionally when visiting and every time it was a diatribe against abortion, or gay marriage, and every other right wing talk radio meme of the week. Some of the older people were still complaining about Vatican II, and they'd kneel for communion, even a few who weren't even born then. I'm sure they hate Pope Francis, I'm sure they hate Hillary Clinton, and I'm sure they make Black and Hispanic visitors feel very uncomfortable.
We went to Mass enough times to know it was always like that. Plus, the priest was an asshole when my great uncle passed away. He did the bare minimum, going through the motions, and all but said he thought my great uncle was burning in hell so we shouldn't be like him.
But we had a nice wake. My great uncle had many friends and I'm sure he made the world a better place... which is more than I can say about that church.
I'm the worst heretic you know... I got that from my mom. She'd met a venal, chain smoking, hard drinking, and worst of all, leering priest when she was young and innocent and seventeen and she never got over it. Which is how she ended up with the Jehovah's Witnesses, until she declared war on them too. My own late teen and early adulthood religious experiences were the David Lynch version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" that left me bleeding on the road after I jumped out of my girlfriend's moving car in Berkeley. I'm totally PTSD about it, and it's tripped me up a few times since, once when my wife and I were driving on the same street, and we were arguing about some stupid thing, and it all flooded back, and I jumped out of the car again, but not when it was moving, mostly because I was driving. And then again, another time...
