Inauguration day, what channel to watch?

Last edited Wed Jan 18, 2017, 12:01 AM - Edit history (1)

Ratings seems to be a more important fact to trump than sound policy. What channel should I watch and advise my friends to watch during the inauguration? If we all tune our TV’s into a different station in mass, it won’t matter that much. If we all tune into the same station it might be possible to have some other station not showing the inauguration potentially have better ratings than the inauguration.

What are your thoughts?

My favorite so far with post 32 by poster chowder66 "BET and Telemundo!"

He's young, (49) but he's got a pretty good Hollywood pedigree going back with his grandfather and great uncle.

Robert Osborne, the regular host, has been sick. He's 84 and has been out for several months. Robert hasn't been able to attend the TCM film festival for the past 2 years due to his health.

All the networks, c-span, cable news, and PBS will carry the inauguration.

These cable channels will not: Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Food, Travel Channel, TV Land, Animal Planet, Nat Geo, A&E, METV, Discovery, TCM, AMC, ID, TLC, MTV, WETV, Spike TV, TNT, Hallmark, E-TV. I'm sure there are many others.

it was a radio show in Denver in the early 1970's...they would have you turn the TV on to one of the movies with the sound all the way off, then provide an improv dialog and storyline to the movie, as well as all the commercials.

They would have been able to do a fantastic narration for Friday's extravaganza! "The orange guy is raising his hand now...wonder where it's been today! He starts to speak, let's listen in...<mumbling> "Me, TheDonald, something about Constitution, uphold, yadda, yadda, preserve, something about defending...here comes the good part, 'So help me, ME!' Now I'm the president, time to take a weekend off then get to the hard work of dismantling the country."
