Donald Trump's pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency acknowledged Wednesday that he isn't familiar with basic science on the health effects of lead. At his confirmation hearing, Scott Pruitt was asked by Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md) whether he believes there is any safe level of lead in the human body. "That's something I have not reviewed nor know about," Pruitt responded. He went on to say that he would be "very concerned about any level of lead" in drinking water or human consumption but added that he had "not looked at the scientific research on that."

No surprise really....
I feel sorry for the long term staffers who have to work with a no nothing. It is actually difficult.
I have had more than one boss who not only had no grasp of the details of the job, but did not care about doing any work.
Looking food over doing good.
Really a pain in the ass to be around.

(7,512 posts)1. He isn't familiar with the health effects of lead poisoning?
Ok. Let's see if we can educate him. I have a very simple idea. We rig the plumbing in his home. All of the faucets in his home, save one, will have pure, clean water. One random faucet (could be a sink or a shower head) will have 50 times the safe limit of lead going through it. Let's see if he can figure which one it is after a month.

But then again, he is simply an attorney general and not a scientist.

Lead poisoning has only been around since the Roman empire
