Michael Flatley Dead To Us Now, Says Ireland
AND all we did for that fucker over the years, and he turns around and does this? Well, he can forget about coming back here again, the sweaty bollix
This was just one statement uttered this morning by a member of the Irish population, following the news that somewhat-Irish Irish-dancing superstar Michael Flatley had agreed to perform at Donald Trumps inauguration ceremony this Friday.
Trump is currently persona non grata in Ireland, following disparaging remarks about the people who live near his Doonbeg golf resort in Co. Clare, as well as his plans to deport thousands of unregistered foreign workers in American, which would take in every second Irish person from Boston to Los Angeles.
With a full Trump boycott brewing, the news that jigger with attitude Flatley had signed up for Fridays event did not go down well with even the most staunch jig and reel fans.
Hes fucking dead to us, said the president of the Irish Flatley Fan Club, ripping posters of the Riverdance pioneer off the wall.

(6,228 posts)What a sad man and day. This reminds me of when Nixon was elected. Protests marked his time in office. Since there is more of us than those who support Trump, we must not stop resisting. I am so glad I live near the Canadian border. Listening to non Trump Canadian radio (CKLW) on my way to and from work is pure pleasure. Watching Canadian tv and non news/political cable channels will be my tv plan at home. I will get my political news from progressive sites like DU and streaming WCPT (Chicago Progressive talk radio). I can not stand to see Trump et al or hear Trump and the repubs. This is how I will survive the next 4 years.

(3,275 posts)He only danced a little. He was looking old and tired. He has always been rather pompous. The show was good but now that I know this, I'm glad that I got the tickets free. It is a shame that he is doing this. I like Irish step dancing. I'm sure there are other ways to watch it without supporting him.

(12,153 posts)One news story I read about him indicated he's in terrible physical shape because of dance. Oh, okay, here's part of it. It's from the Daily Mail, so I guess I shouldn't post a link.
He's probably clueless about trump and doesn't know what's happening to the ACA. Poor Michael Flatley.
After putting his body through the ringer for decades, the star admitted to the Daily Mail earlier this year that his body just couldn't take anymore.
He admitted: I am always in pain. Agony. Every morning my poor wife [Niamh O'Brien] has to witness me spending the first few minutes of the day trying to straighten my back and push my legs to start working.
Ive wrecked my body with dance. I cant say I wasnt warned and I cant say I havent loved every single minute of putting myself into this state.
'But physically Im a mess. I have a recurring broken bone in my right foot which just spontaneously breaks itself.
'My hamstrings are ruined, my groin is gone and Ive done irreparable damage to two points of my spine.
