The one positive thing out of this fuster-cluck that is Trump and his GOP brown nosers is..

that their appalling behavior with the muslim ban and attacks on the environment, etc has offended many voters who either don't vote or who are more likely to vote for Republicans. These are voters that can be brought over to the Democratic side IF Democrats get their crap together and follow this 5 step plan:

1. ONLY run charismatic and engaging candidates who have the natural ability to connect and draw people in. No matter how good the message is...it's not going to win unless people hear it...so delivery matters.

2. Don't give up defending the more controversial liberal issues...but stop making them the major cornerstones or single focus. Prioritize the percentage of time used to talk things up based on the percentage of voters the issue impacts. This does NOT mean you don't defend transgender bathroom rights when the issue comes up. You fight for social justice relentlessly. You just don't need to use up a lot of campaign time and energy on those issues when they only apply to a very small portion of voters.

3. Don't be too radical in any way that would be punitive to large groups of people. Be open to listening to both sides. This does NOT mean you change your positions or go along with things you believe are wrong. It simply means that you hear the voters that are opposed out. Why do they feel the way they do? HEAR them. Reassure them. Listen to their concerns and come up with ideas to address them fairly without abandoning your values.

4. Show up in every last district in every last state...no matter how red it is. If you don't show up you don't get heard. You don't get heard the people you want to help don't hear what you have to offer. They don't hear what you have to offer then they can't make a truly educated choice that best suits their interests.

5. Stay UNITED. Lose the freaking purist attitude at the polls. You are never going to get a candidate you love everything about. Sometimes you MUST do your part for the greater good by uniting AGAINST something horrible. We all see the cost of not sucking it up and doing that this time. Hopefully a hard lesson has been learned and will never be repeated again in this generation.

He won, remember? He thinks that it entitles him to autocratic rule. And that's how he's behaving.

Yes, your ideas have merit. But until 2018 and the next general election, we only have the courts, if that. It's never too early to prepare for this kind of combat, so, yes, it's time to mobilize and organize. Now. The only remedy for the pervasive political disease through which we are now suffering it is to wipe the GOP off the political map, in federal and state governments, at the next general election. My question is: Does the Democratic Party understand that there will be no second chance? This is it. Defeat the GOP in 2018 or kiss the republic goodbye.

But the time to start finding people to run is NOW...and at ALL levels.

School board, dog catcher, city council all the way up to state legislature and governor...on the local and state level there are plenty of opportunities all the time. And Democrats need to start finding the right candidates for 2018 right now. Number 1 on my list is SO IMPORTANT. It gets overlooked too often and that is why candidates like Al Gore and John Kerry...and yes, Hillary lost. It doesn't matter how great a candidate is on paper if they don't connect better and have more charisma than their opponent.
