Barricades tossed through windows of student union, some unruliness on part of students not happy at a particular speaker who is associated with Briebart being invited to speak. Appearance cancelled, and the situation has now turned into a celebratory event with students dancing.

(11,686 posts)2. Yes, hours ago. It was meant to be peaceful but some group
decided to make it violent. My boyfriend was there ( part of the peaceful group ) and actually got hit in the back by a police baton. Once violence breaks out they do not care if you are peaceful or not. They did get the speaker to cancel his speech though.

(458 posts)4. Am I the only one who doesn't see the positive end in forcing speakers to cancel speeches is?
It just makes us looks like jackasses to moderates who might be inclined to agree with some of what we say.
