the only fake part is that there's no evidence of the club actually existing.

but that doesn't much matter. a senior quote in a yearbook is how we always want to be remembered. if he boasted about creating a fascism club, claiming to be its founder and president, that's how he wanted to be known and remembered.

so the club never actually existed, who cares about that?

it's the fact that he put it in his yearbook that matters.
