It has no political significance whatsoever. It wasn't shocking, it was two teams of overpaid, steroid-filled guys pummeling each other for the purpose of entertainment. One team won. It's completely unimportant. The only thing about that game that had any political import was the ads, and they were far more influential than the stupid game itself.

which is that all this kvetching about a dumb football game because OMG Trump likes the Patriots and Tom Brady and it's just like the election!! is ridiculous. Don't like my comments, don't read them.

BTW, I used "FFS" only twice, but I can do it again if you want.

the V. O. cares so little about the game that the V.O. felt it necessary to comment on it a half dozen times FFS.

A holding call was called that took Atlanta out of field goal range. But the Patriots should have been called for a face mask and that would have offset penalties.

He has always been a cowboys fan but also a bigot. We were over with his family at the watch party and he has decided to label the patriots as "white americas team" when I told him I was white and wanted the patriots to lose he said "real white Americans" I don't know how some one can have so much hate. He knows I don't care much for the sport but even his wife talked about how it was honorable of the patriot leadership to support our president. These people have even ruined sports and if there was another way to keep in touch with family I would never go to my brothers again.

it's only a game, do we need any more division? There are more important things to focus on. Russia is escalating in East Ukraine, and we need to get our country back.

I'm a big sports fan, and I was rooting for Atlanta, but this was nowhere near the shock level of the election. And certainly nowhere near the impact. The more experienced post-season team won. It was a major comeback, but if you'd said before the game that the Patriots pulled it out in overtime no one would have been all that shocked.
