Gorsuch's Volunteer Work Questioned
The volunteer record of Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, has been called into question after former law students rebutted claims from Trump that Gorsuch participated in two specific programs at Harvard. The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that three-dozen students who participated in the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project and the Harvard Defenders at the time said they do not remember Gorsuch ever having been involved. “If he was active in PLAP, I am sure I would remember him,” said one of the former Harvard students. Gorsuch did not respond to requests for comment, but the White House provided the Journal with the name of an individual who was able to corroborate Gorsuch’s involvement. “I have a specific recollection of talking to him about one case, but I don’t want to get into the details,” that ex-student said.
