It's not up to Democrats in Congress any more. There really is little they can do at this point apart from small symbolic displays of disagreement. 2018 doesn't look like it will change much as the GOP is already prepping to game those races, too. And after the 2020 census + subsequent redistrictings & it will be a lock. Not to mention we have Dems like Pelosi.

Since I was raised conservative Christian I had the right schools, etc. on my resume. I was assured I was "qualified" and would be trained. I later found out there were far more qualified applicants who were simply "not the right kind of people". Same company had periodic "purges" of any employees they felt slipped through the cracks. They'd downsize a position then immediately fill it again via the local church congregation with someone about as qualified as one of Trump's nominees.

It was a foolish and futile dream to imagine that any of these servile toadies would vote against the will of the party. Toomey received hundreds of thousands of messages pointlessly begging him not to vote for her, and he ignored all of them.

Betsy DeVos is going to cause public education to collapse. We know that. Within 5 years, unless we find someone to run for president who's willing to be a one-term president because the things that need to be done to back us out of Trump's Amerika are so severe it'll piss everyone off, taxpayer-funded education will be a string of private Jesus Schools that'll kick your kid out for getting a B on a quiz.

When public education collapses, Kellyanne Conway is going to go straight on Fox News in her bad clothes and worse makeup, and blame it all on Obama. (Come on. You KNOW Trump's minions are working out how to rig California to flip in his direction.)

When SHE does, every right-winger in the US is going to agree with her.

Be ready to counterattack with facts.

Maybe she'll prove to be too damn dumb to get anything done. In Michigan the public school funding was drastically cut to pay for a business tax cut. The extras have been cut from the schools, teachers were laid off, those who kept their job haven't had a real pay increase in years and the only way to repair buildings is to pass a bound, so the local property tax base shoulders the burden of the cost. Try getting one of those passed in a Republican community.

My guess is that every student that leaves for a private school will get to take a chunk of the schools funding with them. In a small school, that will add up quick.

It seems like it would take a while to get tjis infrastructure in place. 2018 is just around the corner.
