(30,481 posts)Sometimes it was difficult making my way through their posts. They were one of my favorite posters and always had great points and insight. It was clear they were very intelligent and I never questioned their spelling. Others did.

(34,069 posts)There have been a substantial number of threads with misspelled words, or the wrong homonym used. I've been biting my tongue after the last thread poking fun at Republicans for misspellings.
Misspellings are not the sole province of Republicans, and we alienate a fair amount of our working class when we use misspellings/grammatical mistakes as the basis for condemnation (or, worse, for as a test for whether someone is a real democrat v. a troll).

(12,693 posts)It didn't necessarily motivate me to learn spelling well, but I'm very good at judging people by their spelling.
It's a problem that seems to be growing. On local TV news recently a banner described the person talking as a "Navy Coreman".
I'm guessing DJT is just communicating with his base at their level of comprezhenshun.
