In case you wonder who leaked the story about Trump's 3 AM call to Flynn - it was Flynn

Or so says Eric Schmeltzer, a political consultant who's worked for Jerry Nadler and Howard Dean and who writes for HuffPo.

Oh. My. God. Two sources confirm Flynn has told this story.

That tweet links to this story at Huffpo:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-administration-leaks_us_589a45f1e4b04061313a1fbb?

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump was confused about the dollar: Was it a strong one that’s good for the economy? Or a weak one?

So he made a call ― except not to any of the business leaders Trump brought into his administration or even to an old friend from his days in real estate. Instead, he called his national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, according to two sources familiar with Flynn’s accounts of the incident.

Flynn has a long record in counterintelligence but not in macroeconomics. And he told Trump he didn’t know, that it wasn’t his area of expertise, that, perhaps, Trump should ask an economist instead.

Trump was not thrilled with that response ― but that may have been a function of the time of day. Trump had placed the call at 3 a.m., according to one of Flynn’s retellings ― although neither the White House nor Flynn’s office responded to requests for confirmation about that detail.

I don't know whether Schmeltzer's sources confirming that Flynn leaked this story are the two HuffPo writers or other sources of his, but it does answer questions I know some people had about whether this story was true, and if so who would have leaked it, Flynn or Trump (yes, I do think Trump is capable of talking about this, probably thinking at first that it makes Flynn look bad for not being able to answer his question).

Assuming it was Flynn who leaked it, Trump can't be happy about the article, given how bad he looks now.

Or are they such rubes, that they don't know when to shut up?

This one sounds like Flynn was kinda bragging that the boss called him at 3am.

I think some leaks are bona fide leaks, and some are just a symptom of diarrhea of the mouth.

The thing is to let go of the emotions surrounding politics. When you feel anxiety or tension or fear rising, take a few deep breaths -- essentially meditate for a few seconds or minutes -- and then get on with whatever needs doing.

You can't fight emotions because they get stronger that way. Just let them go. Say "Oh, hi, you again, yeah, I know, lots to fear, but I've got things to do. See you later". Mentally, think of opening a window and letting them waft out on the breeze.

Keep talking us off the edge of the cliff! Support the resistance, the ACLU, NC NAACP and Reverend Barber are a couple I can think of off the top of my head.

Also, Virginia and New Jersey are having statewide elections THIS YEAR. Do everything you can to make sure that both these states statewide offices and legislatures are solid blue!

I think that the source of the leaks is SCROTUS himself. He just hasn't figured out that he is the only common denominator of every story that has sneaked out. The jury is still out on whether his staff has seen it yet or they are too scared to say it out loud.
